We’ve got a bunch of new music in the works, starting with a single release on 9-22 called Untergrundbahn. It’s an atmospheric synth-driven workout guaranteed to get you to your destination on time.
It’s been a long time coming, so we’re happy to disclose that Metrolight’s eponymous debut LP is scheduled for release October 21, 2022. The full album will be preceded by two singles; Stranger from Strangeland on September 2nd and Satellite Station on September 23rd. All releases will be digital-only and available for purchase through Bandcamp, iTunes and Amazon, and will be streaming absolutely everywhere. Be sure to follow us on wherever you get your music to be notified about all new releases!
Starting today, our new EP, Copyright Strike is available for streaming and purchase from all the usual places. Add us your playlist today! You can also support us and other artists directly through Bandcamp.
This just in from Tee Pee Records:
“Synth-pop maestros Metrolight make an unlikely debut with “Copyright Strike” — a five-song covers EP that transforms post-punk, rock and pop classics into irreverent synth-pop masterpieces. Metrolight began when founder David James started playing these songs in gay clubs and leather bars around the country and enlisted singer (and Death of Samantha band mate) John Petkovic to join him in his discofied, synthified vision. Metrolight also has a full-length album of originals and is working on separate dance, disco and minimalist synth albums. Expect a lot more from these two…”
We hate everything official… except the official audio vid of Satellite Station.
Spending the day at Somewhere Recording to finish the debut album.
Join us on October 8th at the Beachland Tavern as we share the stage with Montreal’s Operators. On October 15th we’ll make our Columbus debut with Toronto’s Doomsquad.
Big thanks noisey for their interest in our new recordings. This marks the first official press mention of our project! Read the full story here.
